Research Group Richling

The first toxicology master's degree course in Germany provides a scientific, research-oriented education with application-specific aspects.

Lectures and seminars impart theoretical knowledge and provide an insight into the English-language specialist literature. The integrated practical courses teach students the most important methods of toxicologically/biochemically oriented research. As part of two research internships, students learn how to conduct research-related scientific work and learn how to interpret generated data and defend it in a discussion.

Two industrial internships (five and eight weeks respectively) in companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries are central components of the study program.

The program concludes with a six-month Master's thesis, in which students must independently work on and document a given research topic and present and defend the data obtained. It is possible to maintain the thematic direction of the research internship.

Graduates of the Master's degree course have acquired in-depth qualifications in the field of toxicology and are qualified to take on scientific or scientific-administrative activities in the field of toxicology in industry, academia or public authorities.

An upper limit of 13 students per year will be accepted in the first phase. Admission is based on a quality-oriented selection procedure.
